Q and A with Ana from Seattle, Washington
“…with the right help, you can heal from a devastating breakup, heal your wounds from past relationships and childhood, and have a healthy fulfilling relationship.”
Q: What are you passionate about?
A: I am passionate about relationships. At 43 years old, I was successful in my career, financially independent, owned my own house in a nice neighborhood, and had a nice group of friends. And I was going through the most devastating breakup of my life after my partner of five years (now ex-partner) proposed to me the day after my birthday, and the next day took his words back.
I felt my heart shatter in a million pieces. I had a longing for a healthy relationship, and all I could see was a string of failed relationships in my rearview mirror. I got help, and healing from my breakup was my inspiration to want to help people heal by becoming a relationship coach. So, I enrolled myself back in school to study relationships. Soon after I met my now husband, we’ve been together for seven years and counting. I now help women heal from a devastating breakup so they can find love again and enjoy a fulfilling relationship.

Q: What were your younger years like?
A: I grew up in Mexico City and moved to the United States right after I graduated from college. Growing up, my family faced a lot of challenges after the death of my older sister when I was a year old (my sister was five when she drowned in a water reservoir at my grandparent’s ranch while on my dad’s watch). My mother’s grief and the guilt among my parents, caused them to fight often and eventually divorce when I was 14. During my childhood, I witnessed them fighting often, and I felt scared and helpless. For the longest time, I had a longing for a sense of home and a family that was united and harmonious. So, in a way, the inner work I’ve done on myself and dedicating my life to helping people with their relationships is a way to fill that void I had since I was a child.

Q: What is something valuable you’d like others to know?
A: One thing I have learned is that with the right help, you can heal from a devastating breakup, heal your wounds from past relationships and childhood, and have a healthy fulfilling relationship.

Q: What does feminism mean to you?
A: Feminism is a movement that aims to establish equality between the sexes in all areas of life.
